Tarun's background
Tarun is a seasoned IT entrepreneur, consultant, and educator. A bona fide polymath and philomath, he has nearly 15 years of combined professional experience.

After attending the University of Chicago (majoring in Biology) and graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Math and Computer Science, he worked as a software professional and consultant for 6 years prior to matriculating at graduate school. During that time, he also managed to squeeze in a BBA degree in Accounting and E-commerce while working as a software engineer at Concentra.

As a consultant, Tarun was a project lead on over a dozen projects spanning the manufacturing, healthcare, oil & gas, internet, banking & finance, and education verticals. His experience included projects at Fortune 500 and Global 1000 companies such as GE Medical Systems, BP Amoco, and William Blair. In addition to consulting, Tarun worked part-time as a corporate trainer and obtained certifications in Java (SCJP, SCJD) and Microsoft technologies (MCP+SiteBuilding).

In graduate school, Tarun completed dual Master's degrees in 2 years, and obtained certifications in CIO, E-commerce, and Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.

After graduating, Tarun emigrated to Malaysia and started teaching at APIIT as a university lecturer. At the same time, he joined the entrepreneurial ranks and co-founded a mobile software development company with a highly reputable partner. In the ensuing years, he continued to teach and consult with local Malaysian companies and universities as well as pursue entrepreneurship once again, co-founding his own training company.
