This
course covers Scrum basics which include :-
-
the framework;
- mechanics;
- roles
of Scrum
- how
to use Scrum to optimize value, productivity, and the total cost
of ownership of software products.
It
is important to note that scrum.org
maintains a defined curriculum for the Professional Scrum Master
courses. While qualified instructors bring their own individual
experiences and expertise to bear on the course, all students learn
the same core course content.
The PSM is targeted at Scrum Masters as well as people who want
to understand why scrum works. Like the Professional Scrum Developer
(PSD) and Professional Scrum Foundation (PSF) courses, sufficient
focus is given to 'what it is'. However, the PSM goes one step further
to explain the 'why' behind it as well. The PSM course includes
the course, the assessment and the certification.
Scrum.org was founded by Ken Schwaber, one of the creators of Scrum,
in response to the emergence of the “Flaccid Scrum" phenomenon.
Schwaber initially attempted to develop Scrum.org’s programs
while part of the Scrum Alliance, an organization that he founded
and managed for half a decade. Ultimately, he found that to accomplish
his goal of improving Scrum knowledge, training, and implementations,
he would need to break away from the vested interests that had come
to dominate the Scrum Alliance.
Read Ken's letter
for more details on how scrum.org began.
