This
2-day classroom workshop is designed for individuals who already
have knowledge of the fundamentals of COBIT but do not, as yet,
have the practical IT management and governance implementation experience.
Participants will learn the route map for the implementation of
IT governance using COBIT.
Implementing
IT governance can be a difficult task, which is why ISACA created
official guidance on how to implement IT governance using COBIT
and Val IT.
COBIT is an authoritative, up-to-date international set of generally
accepted IT management good practices and control objectives written
for business executives, IT professionals and IT auditors. It continues
to develop as the leading guidance and set of resources for helping
organizations to better manage IT, and provides a framework for
implementing IT governance.
Val IT takes a deep dive into the business governance and value
management dimensions of governance, including Portfolio and Programme
Management. It brings together best practices in these areas in
an integrated framework , the main structure of which is based on
COBIT.
In response to the need for guidance on how to utilise COBIT and
Val IT frameworks to support governance initiatives and IT management
practices, a guidebook has been published by ISACA entitled 'Implementing
IT Governance using COBIT and Val IT' (2nd Edition).
It helps enterprises assess and implement IT governance using maturity
models, performance measurement frameworks, control objectives and
control practices, and will be provided to all participants as part
of the workshop material.
ISACA has developed the 2-day workshop, “Implementing
IT Governance”, as part of its official training on IT governance.
The workshop provides a practical application of some of the key
concepts contained in the guidebook, and is specifically aimed at
IT managers and practitioners. The workshop will provide participants
with generic methods to help guide implementation activities and
is supported by several case studies.
What is COBIT?
COBIT is an
international unifying framework that integrates all of the main
global IT standards, including ITIL, CMMI and ISO 17799. It is a
tool for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and many other global standards.
